Opening Weekend

The Forge wrestling team opened the season by winning the Skyline Elite Opener with Grundy finishing 2nd, Fauquier 3rd and Kellam 4th.  Mikey Hayes, Scott Reilly, David Reck, and Mark Garrity won individual championships.  Bryce Gentry and Quniton Winters finished 2nd while Tony Neis and Zach Martinez were 3rd.  Sean Murphy and Zack Nolan both went 4-1 on the day to place 4th and Connor Mairena and Patrick Ober placed 5th for the Eagles.  Next week we travel to Mountain View on Wednesday and Claysburg, PA on Saturday. The Blue team kicked off their varsity schedule going 4-1 and finished 2nd at the Spotsy Duals.  They beat Spotsylvania 76-6, Powathan 54-30, Washington and Lee 53-21 and R.E. Lee 51-30 before falling to South County 52-28 in the championship match.  Going 5-0 for the Eagles were Curtis Harris, Matheos Lozier and Adam Sinnott, finishing 4-1 were Seth Brodie, Bo Jackson and Drew Schmidtknecht.  The Blue team will be at Mountain View on Wednesday and will travel to Cosby on Saturday. The JV team wrestled well at our home jamboree on Thursday results will be posted on the web site asap.  The JV team will be in action on Wednesday at Liberty High School in Bealton.  GO EAGLES!
