Forge Wrestling Update

Varsity Action
The varsity team finished their regular season district schedule going 3-0 and the 2nd district duals with a 62-3 win over Brooke Point, 72-6 over Riverbend and 50-6 over Stafford. The Eagles are now 7-0 in the district and 13-2 overall on the season.  On Saturday the Forge wrestling team won the 6th Annual Marine Corps Ultimate Challenge scoring 447 points to outdistance Frank W. Cox who had 351 points on the day.  Individually the Eagles had five champions: Bryce Gentry, Connor Mairena, Scott Reilly, David Reck, and Quinton Winters.  Earning silver medals were Michael Hayes and Zach Martinez and bronze medalist were Sean Murphy, Zack Nolan and Mark Garrity.  Others earning spots on the awards stand were Curtis Harris 4th place and Adam Sinnott 5th place.   Matheos Lozier finished in 8th place making it to the championship bracket and Tristen Frias had to injury default in the first round and was unable to continue.  
 
Blue Team and JV Action
On Thursday the Blue Team beat Washington and Lee in varsity action 45-30 and the JV Team wrapped their season with another outstanding effort at King George.  Some of our Blue and JV wrestlers got a chance to compete in the Marine Corps Ultimate Challenge and did very well.  Dyan Hunziker led the way with a 6th place finish, Seth Brodie, Nico Dunbar and Terrence Bell all placed 7th and Ferris Chang finished in 8th place rounding out the wrestlers who made it to the championship bracket.  Earing consolation pool crowns were Drew Schmitdknecht and John Orama who both finished 9th in the tournament and Bo Jackson finished in 11th place overall.
 
The Forge varisty team will return to action on Saturday and will honor our senior wrestlers in a Tri aganist Hopewell and Hermitage.  Match time 2:00pm
