Update 12/20

Another good week of wrestling at the Forge.

The varsity team traveled to the University of Delaware with 99 other teams for the nations toughest high school wrestling tournament the Beast of the East and the team finished in 11th place.  It was an outstanding team effort lead by Scott Reilly who finished 3rd at 160 and Michael Hayes who placed 8th at 112.  Connor Mairena, Zach Martinez, and Zack Nolan all went 3-2 and just missed making it to the medal stand.  Bryce Gentry, Tony Neis, Sean Murphy, David Reck and Quinton all went 2-2.

The blue team headed to Culpeper Duals were they finished in 2nd place.  The Eagles had wins over Culpeper 45-30, Madison 56-19, and Louisa 50-24 before falling to Loudoun Valley 39-33 in the championship match.  Going unbeaten on the day were Seth Brodie, Dylan Hunziker, Drew Schmidtknecht and Terrence Bell.

The JV team had another successful outing at Mountain View and they continue to improve every week.

This Week
On Wednesday the JV and Varsity teams will host Woodbridge on Forge Wrestling Alumni Night.  The JV match will start at 4:00 followed by the Varsity at 5:00.

On Thursday the Blue team will travel to Madison County High School for the Mountaineer Duals.
