Forge Wrestling Update 1/4/11

Varsity   The varsity wrestling team shutout Woodbridge 72-0 on alumni night for the Eagles.  We welcomed over 30 Forge wrestling alumni and had a great time at Buffalo Wild Wings telling stories after the match   Powerade Christmas Tournament The team finished in 11th place out of 44 team at the 44th Powerade Christmas Tournament ranked as the 4th toughest tournament in the United States.  Bringing home individual medals for the Eagles were David Reck (2nd Place), Scott Reilly (6th Place), and Michael Hayes (7th Place).   Blue Team   The Blue team went 3-2 at the Mountaineer Duals at Madison County High School earning wins over Clarke County 39-33, Culpeper 45-36, and Madison County 53-25 and dropping matches to Mills Godwin 54-21 and Orange County 45-33.   Battle at the Bridge seven Forge wrestlers picked up individual medals led by Curtis Harris' runner-up finish.  Dylan Hunziker-3rd, Seth Brodie and Drew Schmidtknecht-5th, Bo Jackson-6th, John Orama and Terrence Bell-8th.   This week is all varsity action with the team traveling to North Stafford for a Commonwealth District Quad on Wednesday, we will be wrestling Albemarle, Massaponax and North Stafford.  On Friday and Saturday the Eagles will be hosting the 9th Annual Marines.com Battlefield Duals which features 12 teams from 4 states.  For more info go to http://www.battlefieldduals.com/
